I bought a pair of A7-500s they were pretty rough. i figured i'd put a little work in them and resell them. i added bracing, replaced a 515, added an 8" port tube, and finally did a lttle refinishing and repainted them battleship grey (oil based). well i couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to add a set of removeable wing panels.




getting ready to apply the felt. i added these so they don't scar the paint job.

Very nice! Unfortunately, driver spacing dictates a very long listening distance, otherwise one suffers from the vertical delay back when I perched some 511s on top of my old vertically opposed dual 515 'subs' as a temporary set of Altecs. Very annoying with some music, especially any with a keyboard.

Would cutting a hole in the top wing and mounting the horn in it improve that? If needed foam like on 19's?

i just set that on top to see what it would look like. i don't want to cut any holes yet, as i wanted to leave that up to whoever buys the speakers.
